These were taken during my very first stint as a Stylist for Earth Day 2006. They were my creations: Earth Lady & Love Being. (And I was 6-months pregnant with my first son!)

Being a Stylist or a Fashion Designer has been the longest and most coveted dream that I can think of. Back in the 80′s I love creating original pieces for my paper dolls or sewing Barbie’s clothes. In my early teens I would recreate a shirt or a pair of jeans just to give a boring set the right spunk. I’ve always wanted to have my own clothing line. Even then, I can’t stop being a stylist to my friends or my mom. It felt really natural for me to play around an outfit or make an outfit work for them.

I so want to pursue this love. Last year, I was about to purchase a sewing machine. The game plan was just to look for someone who can train me and teach me the basics in sewing and pattern-making. But then my family was heading back to Dubai by then so I had to put that dream on hold.

Today I found out that USC – Fine Arts is now offering Major in FASHION DESIGN. My heart skipped a beat. It used to be just one of the subjects in school. I. WANT. TO. GO. BACK. TO. SCHOOL. This is it. I am definitely heading that way.

But. Not yet. I need to plan this whole going back to school business. For now, I can make myself useful in gearing up myself with fashion-related sketches. Less doodle, more concrete drawings and fattening this dream again ^_^
